I love to read but I don't always find the time to do it as much as I would really like. I try to read every night before bed, but so often after reading my devotional I just can't keep my eyes open long enough to get through even one chapter. I have just finished reading all three books in the Ladybug Farm series by Donna Ball. I loved them all! They are the kind of books that make you go to bed an hour early just so you'll be able to stay awake long enough to get several chapters read! I seem to be drawn to books about a circle of friends...girlfriends to be exact...and that is where the first book begins, with a group of friends who have always wanted to find a huge old mansion to restore together....and so they do...half way across the country in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They sell everything they own and set out on their adventurous journey... and that is only half of it. You will laugh, you will cry, you will feel like you are right there with them. Everytime I picked up my book to read I felt like I was visiting Ladybug Farm. There are 3 books in the series and a companion cookbook with all the recipes that are mentioned in the three books. I haven't seen the cookbook yet but I'm sure it's a winner! Of course I passed the books on to mama as I would finish each one and as she was finishing book 2 she called me and asked how much more did I have until I was finished with book 3! Haha! I was only on page 50 but in the course of the next 4 days I finished the book and took it to her last night! I highly recommend reading and visiting Ladybug Farm...you can even check out the blog that is created by one of the girls in book three, Ladybug Farm Charm. The author is Donna Ball and I've just found out she has a new book that I'm sure I'll have to put on my Books I Want To Read shelf. Happy reading ya'll...now don't fall asleep before that book is finished!

Becky, I have the first book, but really never found the time to read it, but I will now! You've convinced me it's a must read. My hubby was raised near the Shenandoah Valley, gorgeous area. I guess that's why my sister in law bought me this book, kind of an interest in the location. Anyway, thanks for your book review.
